I am a blind Utah artisan who has had to learn to "see" the world differently. I lost my eyesight due to a rare genetic eye disease called MacTel 2. I learned how to do my lathe work in woodshop class at Utah DSBVI (2016). All my pieces are created start to finish without sight.

The Basil Project
The Basil Project produces naturally dyed goods using botanical materials aka plants and flowers! All items are hand-dyed in small-batch here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Each product takes between 48 – 96 hours to complete our natural dye process. Every item is unique, one of a kind!
